World Congress
The Power of the Collective

Allies Progam
October 1 - 4, 2024
Nairobi, Kenya

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED.

Survivor Alliance World Congress is a tri-annual, survivor-led, movement building event that brings together the Survivor Alliance community to advance survivor leadership. We will do this by hosting parallel, but separate, programs for survivors and allies, and then bringing everyone together on the final day of the World Congress. Our approach to advancing survivor leadership includes:

  • Building meaningful relationships among and across all participants

  • Providing practical skills-based training and learning opportunities

  • Elevating diverse voices and perspectives

More than 100 survivor leaders from around the world will gather to foster an inclusive and intersectional movement, develop leadership skills, and work with allies to develop strategies for survivor inclusion.

The World Congress is the only survivor-led and focused event of its kind, bringing together a multi-national group of adult survivors of all types of human trafficking. It is also the only anti-trafficking sector event where survivors are the primary curators of the agenda for allies. You can read the report from our first World Congress to learn more.

World Congress Allies Program expands opportunities for people without lived experience of human trafficking to deepen their allyship with survivor leaders.

By the end of the World Congress, ALLIES WILL:

  1. Engage with, and learn from, a diverse range of survivor leaders - people from around the world in a range of leadership roles.

  2. Increase knowledge about the challenges survivor leaders face globally and survivor-informed interventions.

  3. Gain practical tools and strategies for addressing systemic barriers to survivor inclusion in their work.

Event Details

The full World Congress takes place September 30 - October 4, 2024. Survivor leaders will gather first, and our allies are invited to join on October 2nd. For survivor leaders, closed-session spaces allow people to build trust and rapport, speak frankly, and envision a world where survivors are leading the anti-trafficking movement. For allies, closed-session spaces also allow for trust building and candid conversations with survivor leaders who are able to support allies’ engagement.

Collaboration and shared spaces

Through shared meals and a final day of World Congress, survivors and allies will come together to network, exchange learnings, and collaborate to address systemic barriers to survivor inclusion.
