Allies Virtual Program

Welcome to the 2024 World Congress, The Power of the Collective’s virtual online program! We are so glad you’re here!

A note about virtual participation:
Live virtual participation will not include every session, and will not feel the same as attending in person.

The virtual program will include many of the plenaries and some breakout sessions. Participants will need to register for each individual session that they want to attend (see below). The sessions will be live-streamed, and participants can engage with us via Zoom (we promise we will have someone monitoring the chat!).

We will post videos of as many sessions as we can after the World Congress has ended so you can still benefit from the content.

If you are a Survivor Alliance member, please check your email for information regarding virtual participation in the survivor leader program.

If you are a survivor leader but not yet a member, please register to participate in the activities listed on this page.

We know that there are sometimes questions that our allies are hesitant to ask about survivor engagement, for fear of coming off as offensive or ignorant. We think these unspoken questions will get in the way of survivor-ally collaborations. Please share your questions anonymously and we will do our best to answer them.

Here are a few examples:

  • Is it wrong to have survivors volunteer? Do we always have to pay people?

  • Why do people share their trauma story even when we tell them they don’t have to?

  • Why is it condescending to give people gift vouchers instead of cash?
